Bed by Jan Beutener is a painting that conjures more than it shows. As a collective, we found ourselves looking at it and asking questions. Who is this person? Why are they sitting on the bed? Where are they? What has just happened? What is happening? And what is about to happen?
The setting of the painting inspired us to work on an interpretation of the painting. We staged the bed and room that this person is sitting in, imagining the details around them. Opening up our imaginations and those who interact with it.
